North Atlanta Reformed Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce a seminar designed to assist believers to mature in their faith. Led by veteran minister Ken G. Smith, the seminar will be held on January 9^th and 10^th, 2009, in Cumming, Georgia.

According to Dr. Frank J. Smith, pastor of the congregation, the weekend conference will feature Bible basics. “Prayer and Christian living are topics which are foundational for everyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ. Ken Smith will be challenging not only new believers, but also longtime believers, to keep focusing on the One who has died and ever lives for us.”

Prior to his retirement, Pastor Ken G. Smith pastored churches in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Syracuse, New York. He has remained active in ministry, being engaged in seminar work at various churches around the country.

The seminar will be held at the Kiwanis Club, 417 Pilgrim Mill Road, Cumming, starting at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 9^th, and will conclude at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 10^th. North Atlanta Reformed Presbyterian Church is a mission congregation of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, a Bible-believing denomination with a long heritage in Scotland and America. The mission church presently meets for worship at the Oakmont Clubhouse, 4680 Oakmont Bend Dr in Alpharetta (Forsyth County), at 10:00 AM on the Lord’s Day. The public is cordially invited to attend.

The Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA), which is the parent denomination, has from its inception in the eighteenth century always engaged in the ancient and Biblical practice of singing the Psalms of Scripture.  This type of singing features rousing renditions of various Psalms, as well as more contemplative versions.  Singing from the Psalms allows the church to experience the full range of human emotions and to celebrate in song the fullness of Christian doctrine.

After the time of singing, there will be a reception for Pastor Frank J. Smith and his wife Penny, who have recently moved to the area so that he can pastor the congregation.  Dr. Smith has previously ministered in New York, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Also, a voluntary collection of non-perishable foods, toiletries, paper products, cleaning supplies, and food vouchers will be taken. All items collected will be distributed to those in our community who are in need.
